The state-of-the-art Behavioral Medicine Center (BMC), which is a dual-use Safe Room on the campus of Abbeville General, is nearing completion. Final preparations are being made for the opening in the near future.
The total cost of the BMC/Safe Room is $ 6,488,546. The breakdown of funding is as follows:
$ 3,763,356 has been federally funded through the Hazard Mitigation Grant Program under FEMA- 1786-DR-LA.
$ 2,725,190 will be funded by the Hospital Service District No. 2 Sales Tax.
