After nearly 6 years, University Hospital & Clinics is closing their inpatient Medical Detox Unit; a 12-bed inpatient unit that provides a detox setting for individuals experiencing a substance abuse disorder.
As of June 24th, 2019 Abbeville General Hospital has contracted with New Vision to provide medical stabilization and withdrawal management services for adults with drug, alcohol and related health issues. The service accepts appropriate adults, who are currently using or are experiencing acute withdrawal symptoms from certain drugs. It consists of a medically supervised hospital stay for inpatient stabilization that typically lasts 3 days. All insurance accepted by the hospital are eligible including Medicare and all Medicaid Healthy Louisiana plans.
