Telemedicine
What is Telemedicine?
It’s the delivery of health care and the exchange of health care information across distances using telecommunication technology. Simply — it’s a way for you to see a specialist even though you are in one place and they are in another.
In order to keep those in our community safe while still providing quality care, Abbeville General offers mental/behavioral health Telehealth through its Erath/Delcambre Community Care Clinic by means of Video Visits!
Anyone who is need of mental/behavioral health care can now speak with one of our healthcare providers in the comfort of their own home, using their smartphone, a tablet, or a computer with camera and audio capability. Patients will speak to one of our team members and will then be given instructions on how to enroll in the Abbeville General Patient Portal (through our online HealtheLife Portal or the HealtheLife app) to begin the Video Visit process. Once enrolled, an appointment time will be scheduled. The patient can then connect with the Erath/Delcambre Community Care Clinic through the Patient Portal at their designated time, the provider then enters and the Video Visit will take place.
This convenient way of visiting with a mental/behavioral health professional is safe, efficient, and convenient. Abbeville General continues to provide Access to Quality Care Close to Home and now from within homes!
