Medical/Surgical Inpatient Care

Abbeville General Hospital provides inpatient services for a full range of medical and surgical conditions and across all ages. Nurses are on duty 24 hours a day to assess your needs, communicate with your doctor and provide care and treatment. Our staff is able to provide a skilled level of care with that personal touch.​

The Medical Surgical Inpatient Care Units consist of:

A 26-bed Medical/Surgical Unit located on the 3rd Floor North, which includes adult, pediatric, observation and swing bed. Care is provided to adult patients that are acute and/or chronically ill.

Patient conditions treated on 3 North include, but are not limited to:

  • CVA
  • Uncontrolled Diabetes
  • Gastrointestinal Disorders
  • Pneumonia
  • Substance abuse/medical stabilization
  • Orthopedic surgical cases following release from recovery

A Pediatric Wing is located on the West wing of 3 North.

A 7-bed Telemetry Unit is located on 2 North. Care is administered to patients who are in need of cardiac monitoring.

Patient conditons treated on this unit include, but are not limited to:

  • Acute or Chronic CHF
  • Angina
  • Acute or Chronic Atrial Fibrillation

Our team of Registered Nurses, Licensed Practical Nurses, Certified Nursing Assistants and Unit Secretaries strive to provide a therapeutic and safe environment to meet your physical, emotional, psycho-social and spiritual needs.
